The monolithic form seen floating out in space in this piece actually shows an inverted landscape laying at the foot of Spirit Mountain in southern Alberta’s Waterton National Park, a microcosmic snippet of the macrocosmic Earth painted top left, and if one could slide each of the sections of this monolithic snapshot together so that they aligned top and bottom one would see that they form a stout cross, the same sort of cross that often serves as a grave marker. Any inference after that I will leave to you.
